The Garmin v. Magellan GPS Show Down

Posted by on July 17, 2009

I’ve narrowed my search between the Garmin nüvi 265W/265WT 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with Integrated Traffic Receiver and Magellan RoadMate 1470 4.7-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator.  Both have free traffic*, Text to Speech,  Large Widescreens .   The Magellan had a better tactile response for its touch screen, better price and a slightly larger screen.    The Garmin has Bluetooth, Traffic and better customer support.   Ugh! GPSMagazine.com has the Garmin slightly higher 80% vs 78% on its buyers guide so I am thinking that should be a better choice.

* The Magellan requires an Additional Traffic Receiver.

Kati Rolls @ Kabob & Grill

Posted by on July 01, 2009

Kati Rolls are Spicy, Hot, Delicious and wrapped in a Roti.     I like my Indian Burrito’s filled with meat.  I picked up two delicious  Chicken Kati Rolls.    Now I’ve found another place to enjoy their deliciousness.    The Kabob & Grill is this bizarre mix of Indian cuisine platter style and Halal Pizza.

If your confused about this delicious Indian street snack from the Wikipedia:

Kati roll is a street-available fast food popular in Kolkata, India. In Kolkata, it is thought to be introduced by Nizam’s, a restaurant in the city noted for its Mughlai food[citation needed]. In Mumbai, it is similar to a frankie.

It is said[who?] that the kati roll was the result of some quick thinking on a busy day, when the number of customers purchasing kebab and parathas outstripped the rate at which plates could be washed, so the chef decided to wrap some of the kebabs in parathas rather than serve them on plates.

The basic kati roll begins with paratha toasted on a tava. Whipped egg is poured in the tava’s center and topped with the bread. Fried vegetables are roasted in butter and stuffed inside. Spices, red onion slivers and lime are sprinkled on top. Spicy potatoes, paneer, chicken tikka or mutton can also be stuffed inside. At certain outlets, the kati comes wrapped around a non-greasy rumali roti.

In Kolkata, the prominent joints serving delicious rolls are in Golpark area like Bedwin, Shiraz, Iceberg, MyRoll Junction etc.

Water

Everything on the earth bristled, the bramble
pricked and the green thread
nibbled away, the petal fell, falling
until the only flower was the falling itself.
Water is another matter,
has no direction but its own bright grace,
runs through all imaginable colors,
takes limpid lessons
from stone,
and in those functionings plays out
the unrealized ambitions of the foam.

I used Shopobot.com to help me find a good price for my latest purchase: The Canon 40D.    I love the sexy graphs.    The other thing that’s awesome is that I created an email price alert that told me when to buy it based on my price point.

Pittsburgh seems awesome.
